Association Between Hypertension And Erectile Dysfunction: A Meta-Analysis Of Cross-Sectional Studies International Journal Of Impotence Research

# Relation between hypertension and erectile dysfunction: a meta-analysis of cross-section studies

**Abstract**
The relationship between hypertension and erectile dysfunction (ED) has been extensively studied over the past few decades. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to assess the association between hypertension and ED, focusing on cross-sectional studies published in peer-reviewed journals. Using advanced statistical methods, the study incorporates data from multiple studies, analyzing the impact of hypertension on sexual function, potential mediators, and the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions. The findings underscore a strong link between hypertension and ED, highlighting the need for comprehensive management strategies to address this comorbid condition.

**Subjects**
This meta-analysis includes cross-sectional studies that investigated the relationship between hypertension and ED. Studies were selected based on their sample size (≥100 participants), clear definitions of hypertension, and assessment of sexual function using validated tools such as the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF). Participants were men diagnosed with hypertension, aged 18–65 years, without a history of cardiovascular events or diabetes, to ensure homogeneous study populations.
